If you’re like me, you love to get that newspaper on Thanksgiving Day and map out your day for Friday shopping. For the past few years now I’ve relied heavily on a great website that gives you the heads up on the sales for Black Friday ahead of time. BlackFriday.net posts scans of the ads for Black Friday. Unfortunately for this year, I won’t be in town to enjoy the sales. Check them out, they’ve gots tons of ads already posted….they just released the Walgreens ad, and make sure to check their site about WalMart, evidently they’ll be having some secret sales each Friday leading up to Black Friday.

I have been on the hunt for a new cell phone plan and some new phones as well. I’ve been somewhat happy with my service so far, and have been with them for almost 10 years, but I think it’s time to move on. Have you ever checked out Wirefly.com? They are a one stop shop as far as cell phones and plans are concerned. I checked out some Nextel phones and there are some great deals with these phones. One some of the Nextel phones you can get an instant discount (which makes them free) or you can get a rebate when you sign up with a Nextel account.
My next stop were the Sprint cell phones. My sister has a Sprint phone and service, and raves about them all the time. I really like the Samsung Upstage, and I could get that phone free if I signed up with a new account through them. There’s another Samsung phone - the A900M - that I could get for free as well, plus get a free Bluetooth headset if I signed up with a Sprint account. So far, they are my number one choice.
I also looked at T-Mobile phones. I can get a free RAZR phone if I opened up a new account with them and I really do like the RAZR phone. I love that it’s available in magenta, which is one of my favorite colors. Hey, that is important to me. Heh heh.
I’m still a little undecided but I suppose I should ask my husband what he thinks too. I do like Wirefly’s Resources page…it gives you a lot of information to aid you in making your decision. At least I have a little bit of time to go over everything, but luckily I found a site that sums everything up in one place.

Back when I was in high school, I drove a 1968 Ford Mustang. My father had completely restored it and I was quite surprised that he gave the car to me to drive around in. I didn’t realize at first how cool of a car it was until I started getting compliments on it. My Dad spent a lot of time restoring it. He’d travel to California just to get special parts or accessories! I thought he was crazy. There was a time when I thought he was getting a little obsessive over the car, but you know what? This was his baby. He took it under his wing when it was in pretty bad shape and made it into a classic beauty.
Too bad the internet wasn’t really up and running back then. We could have really used it. Any type of gift for our Dad pretty much had a Mustang theme. Anything with a Mustang on it, we bought it for him. I can’t tell you how many key chains we got him. Heh heh. Do you have a muscle car enthusiast in your home? Check out Muscle Car Apparel & Gifts. They have tons of muscle car apparel and accessories. In fact, I plan on purchasing a T-shirt from their site for my Dad for Father’s Day. Here’s the logo:
The blue Mustang pictured at the very bottom is a replica of the exact same one I drove. He’s gonna love it!! What I like about this site is the fact that it also caters to women and kids. Most of those car sites only cater to men so it’s nice to see that they offer girly T-shirts and hats.
Take a look at their
site. They really do have a little bit of everything for the muscle car enthusiast.

Just when you thought you couldn’t use another toolbar, here’s one that’s worth downloading. It’s called the Do Good Toolbar and the premise is simple. Once you have downloaded the toolbar at
DoGoodToolbar.com, click on the Shop/Give menu on the toolbar itself, click on one of the several merchants and purchase something. They donate money to charity. They’ll even donate if you’re just searching online. How simple is that?
Here’s a sampling of some of the merchants to choose from: Apple iTunes, Barnes and Noble, and Kodak EasyShare Gallery. These are all sites that I frequent often online and even make purchases through. So now, with purchases I make through the Do Good Toolbar, money will be donated to charity as well. It’s really a win win situation. Let’s say I wanted to buy some songs through iTunes. 2.5% of the purchase price will be donated to charity.
I like the additional features that the Do Good Toolbar has to offer as well. There’s a handy dandy Email Notifier that will alert me if I have any new emails. It works through POP3, Yahoo!, Gmail, or Hotmail accounts. I can even get updates on the weather!
So why not download the Do Good Toolbar and start donating to charity. It’ll do you some good.

I was surprised when I found out about this site as well…it’s true, you can get free plants, trees, and flowers and only pay for processing and shipping! Cheryl Richter is behind Free Trees and Plants, and what a great idea!! There are millions of high-quality plants that go unsold and are destroyed, but through Free Trees and Plants, they find unsold nursery stock and have it packaged by sheltered workshops, who employ workers with disabilities. So not only are you helping save a tree, plant, whatever, you’re also enabling a person who has a disability to earn a paycheck. Kudos to Cheryl!

We changed some of our outdoor lighting last year - not much, basically just the lighting around our garage and our front entryway. I’d love to do some pathway lighting leading up to our front door and found some through farreys.com. They really have some of the best deals online for lighting.
As far as my indoor lighting goes, my next project is to change out the bathroom light fixtures. I found some hinkley light fixtures that matched perfectly with the decor in my master bathroom. Great price compared to those major home improvement stores.
I love the search tool that they provide on their site as well. I bet you didn’t know you had so many choices when it comes to lighting. When finding the perfect lighting for your home, whether it be indoors or outdoors, you can choose from the style, brand, type, finish, or price. Now how can you go wrong with that?

Okay, I admit it. I’m obsessed with buying shoes. I don’t care what kind of shoes they are - sandals, flip flops, athletic shoes, whatever. Well, through one of the forum boards that I frequent I found out about a cool site that offers a promotion of 60% off shoes for one day out of the month. Guess what, it’s tomorrow!! Hurry and see what
Shoes.com has to offer tomorrow (Saturday, May 12) from 7:00 AM to 12:00 midnight CST!! All orders are shipped FREE via UPS ground.

I’ve always had the misconception that any type of down bedding would be quite expensive. I was lucky enough to receive a down throw for Christmas from my in laws and have just fallen in love with the comfort it provides. I find myself taking the throw into the bedroom with me and will sleep on that on occasion. I seriously sleep better on it.
I found an awesome site - Downdeals.com - that really helps you choose the right type of down bedding that you’re looking for - whether it be pillows, comforters, throws, featherbeds, or blankets. I love the search capability on their site as well. For example, if you’re interested in buying a comforter, you can choose from the following items to really customize the type of comforter you’re looking for: Fill Type, Fill Power, Fabric, Fabric Finish, Pattern, Gussett, Thread Count, Size, Color, and Construction. With those choices, there’s no second guessing what you’re buying.
Downdeals.com is the same company who makes a lot of bedding items that are available at major department stores like Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and LL Bean. But why shop there, when you can simply shop online on their site in the comfort of your own home. You can even get FREE shipping on orders over $50!

Have you ever checked out this site? I have used it in the past and love it. I frequent Target probably twice a week and right now on Couponchief.com you can get $5 off of a $50 purchase you make online at Target. C’mon, you all know how easy it is to spend $50 at Target!
That’s not the only store you can get great deals on through their site, get discounts at GAP (Free shipping on orders over $100), STAPLES (Fre shipping on most orders over $50), and let’s not forget that Mother’s Day is this Sunday. You can get a great deal flowers through FTD.com - get $5 off with the purchase of 15 tulips + get 15 Free! Now what Mom is not going to love that?
So check out Couponchief.com and start saving money today just like me!

Do you keep the Sunday coupons? I do. I have 6 Sunday newspapers delivered to me just for the coupons itself. Crazy, aren’t I? Well, these six sets of coupons have gotten me countless items for free, and I have quite a stockpile going on in my pantry. Every week I throw the inserts into a folder and label it with the date. I check out this site to compare what is on sale for that week at the local grocery stores. Granted, this site is probably local to only the west, but check your online local newspapers and see if they have something similar. It takes just a little bit of time and effort but worth every penny!
